Academics - Physical Education

The Physical Education program at Joseph S. Bruno Montessori Academy is age-appropriate and is designed for all students to participate in school-sponsored activities regardless of ability level, challenging all students involved to develop to their highest potential.

Students recieve Physical Education for five days a week for 30 minutes a day. Instruction imparted stresses the areas of physical skills, motor skills, body movement, improves personal fitness, strenghtens peer relationships through team building , reduces stress thereby promotes psychological well being.
Thus, we invest in quality physical education in all grades which is a logical and important step toward balancing the healthy body and minds !

ROPES COURSE PROGRAM :

The Bruno Ropes Course is a program that encourages teamwork and communication among classmates. Our course is a "low ropes" course and is spread out across the J.S.B. campus.
Our physical education teacher, Adam Young, is a certified ropes course facilitator.
During physical education class, groups of students are introduced to the program through
a series of "low risk" games that serve as the foundation of the ropes course.
As the program progresses, the activities become more complicated and require a greater amount of risk and trust. Students are educated in the "Challenge By Choice" philosophy but are encouraged to push their comfort zone. Through this experience, students learn more about themselves as well as how to work together to accomplish a common goal.
